#themcmurts…. it’s just too good to pass up this nickname so soon after working with #themcbubs. I love all these Mc’s! It can be meshed together with almost anything!
Taylor and Brad (and let’s not forget the vivacious little Lily) flew all the way to Colorado a couple of weeks ago for some engagement-family hybrid photos. I’ve known Taylor for several years now as she used to be one of my (very stubborn, but all-star) art students in Michigan. We’ve kept in contact over the years and through some major milestones in her life. I’m happy to have been along for the ride and even happier to have taken these pictures for the recently engaged high school sweethearts.
And let’s be honest… there’s not a whole lot of posing work to be done when your subject is an artist herself!
I’m thrilled to say that I will be photographing their wedding next May – strong-minded brides are always my favorite. 🙂
PLUS, I’ll be working with the endlessly lovely Jami of Jami Carlson Photography. It just doesn’t get much better than that!

[…] I introduced you to The McMurts last year after their engagement shoot. I met Taylor when she was still in high school…and I was her art teacher. The story of how Taylor met Brad is even better, so let’s start there. To keep it short (and it’s already super sweet) Brad moved to town when they were younger and was immediately the smart kid in class, to which, as Taylor tells it, she immediately claimed him to be her partner. Little did she know, it would be for life. […]
