It’s hard for me to believe that the year is coming to a close and I’ve only shot a handful of sessions at Eagle Creek Park this year. Of course, I shouldn’t speak too soon. Yes, the year is coming to a close, but let’s be honest. The close of the year holds the bulk of my annual work, so there’s still plenty of time for me to frequent my favorite spots over the next two months. In fact, I was just there yesterday afternoon, slowly meandering down the trails in the shadow of my toddler who was more than willing to show me the way and have quiet conversations between himself and the woods.

My very first session with this family, and one of my first sessions as an Indianapolis family photographer, as here at this park… in some of the same spots, too. It’s hard to believe that was more than 7 years ago now, and taking this crew down to the water felt like a much more manageable feat now that everyone can walk on their own.

Kasey and Brian, thank you for inviting me back to document your family year after year. Every session we have is better than the last and becomes my new favorite. Thank you for trusting me with your family and your memories!
