Just a couple of weeks ago I met Marisela and Quan for the first time. We had set up a consultation for their 2019 wedding and were sitting down to talk through all the goodness that comes along with wedding photography and the packages I offer. I always like to start off hearing a bit about the couple, their vision for their wedding, their plans for engagement photos, and all the tidbits that make them them. I already knew they had booked 1899 as their venue and was so excited about getting back there to shoot again. It’s in my top list of venues I’ve shot here in Indy even having worked there only once! So as they started to share with me why they chose 1899 and how they met I may have started to get a little starry-eyed.
Marisela and Quan chose 1899 (among other things) for their dance floor. Why? Because they met through salsa dancing in what might be the most perfect ‘the stars are aligned’ moment I’ve heard. Did I mention that Quan used to perform salsa in Vegas?! Who’s ready for their first dance!? I know I am!!
Both of them are finishing up their medical degrees and have incredibly busy schedules, but we managed to squeeze in their Newfields engagement session. Not only did we find time to get them in front of the of the camera for some photos that will freeze their time together in Indiana before they head off to do their residencies, but we also lucked out with the more perfect fall temperatures and peeks of sun that evening. As I culled their session I couldn’t help but grin to myself as each frame shows so much joy and excitement on their faces. It’s so easy for me to go into a session knowing it will feel just like hanging out with friends for the evening, but when Marisela confirmed my thoughts at the end of the session, well that was just the icing on the cake!
Marisela and Quan, thank you for spending the evening with me! It was so much fun getting to see you all in your element and I cannot wait to celebrate you next year!
