Kelsey and Rich had one of those wedding days that was filled with belly laughing, and if you’ve met Rich, you’ll know why. Since these two live out-of-state I didn’t have a chance to photograph them prior to their wedding day, and while we met in advance to talk through details and planning, it just isn’t the same as seeing a couple truly together. So when we snuck them away for a private moment before their ceremony, it was the first time I saw them as who they are as a couple – and there wasn’t anyone within earshot who wasn’t giggling away.
It continued on throughout the day, with one of my favorite moments being when Rich let the draping florals tickle his face back and forth as Kelsey mouthed for him to stop all while stifling laughter (yes, I saw and caught it all, you two). Of course, Kelsey knocked everyone’s socks off as she strode down the aisle (after impressively descending two flights of outdoor stairs in her gown) in a dress that not only had the most gorgeous bow and tails on the back (see for yourself!), but that converted into a new style of dress for the reception. More converting dresses in 2021? Yes, please!
Kelsey and Rich’s Lindley Farmstead at Chatham Hills wedding was my first ‘fall’ wedding of this year and season and it blew me out of the water. Of course, every time I work with Julie of Julie’s Flowers of Geist, I have the same jaw dropping reaction as I enter the venue, and then I move onto drooling when I get my hands on the bouquet for detail shots. Paired with the rustic barn backdrop of Lindley Farmstead and the elegant, black tie touch of Ritz Charles and wah-lah, I instantly have twice as many photos as I typically take at a wedding. Ummm… and did I mention they had a second line dance at their reception!? There were just so many details, moments, and changing expressions to leave anything out!
To Kelsey and Rich, thank you for trusting me from afar and inviting me to document your day. It was magical from beginning to end and I’m excited for you to relive it all again. Congratulations to you both!
