Indianapolis Wedding Photographer | casey and her camera
Earlier this month I had the opportunity to photograph the most perfectly intimate wedding at the Matthaei Botanical Gardens at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. As far as wedding photography goes, this event proved to be very comfortable in every aspect of the day. It was so … fitting, for me, for lack of a better word. The bouquets were hand made by the bride, the ceremony was held in the Circle Garden, which made for an interesting series of ‘photographer moves’ on my part đ , and the reception was held at a small and personal venue in Saline (formerly the Calico Cat, you guys! Where I used to buy all my beanie babies as a preteen!)
The couple met in high school and are absolutely the best of friends, not to mention madly in love. They were surrounded entirely by people who love them and care for them and the whole day just felt so warm and fuzzy. Not to mention I know the bride and her bridesmaids from high school, as well. It’s always nice when things come around like this – 10 years out of high school and I felt like I was just attending a little mini reunion with the girls while they were getting ready for the day. Oh! And remember my own reception cake!? Well, the fabulously talented Ellen was not only IN the wedding party, but made this lucky bride’s cake, too! Stick around for more details on the cake on the blog next week!
And without further adieu… some of the details from the day. <3
Who doesn’t want a team of flower and ring girls playing the ‘princesses’ for Cinderella on her wedding day!?Â
Ellen made this cake…. down to the incredibly detailed flowers and leaves and such. IMPECCABLE!Â
And the groom’s mom made this carrot cake! Impressive cake skills! Bravo!!
