I’m currently winding down my annual trip to Michigan for the holidays and a bit of bad weather here has given me a couple of days inside to get caught up on this session from last week instead of playing Calvinball outside.
I’ve known this family for a while, now, and am always delighted to see them over the holidays. I’m even more thrilled when they invite their own parents and hop in front of my camera for one of the sweetest Christmas sessions I’ve shot to date. It’s been over a year since I had a shoot with little Avery and a lot has changed in that time. Regardless, she’s a complete doll with perfect pigtails and a tongue that’s hanging out most of the time… that must be a two-year-old thing. 😉  This Indianapolis photographer thoroughly enjoyed her morning chasing pink kitties through the heavy fog… happy holidays to you all!
Side note: Jeff and Mary… you have a budding photographer on your hands. Check out the shot she took of you all below!
To give you a little bit of backstory, these trees are on the family land and have been growing for the last 6+ years. Next year will be the first year they will cut down the trees for the holidays (although I think this particular tree should be kept uncut and decorated in the field every year… what an awesome tradition that would be!). Jeff got up early and went out to the field and hooked up some lights and gathered the ornaments. Two families came together to help this very special two-year-old decorate her very-own tree in the field and it was just as magical as you would imagine it to be. <3
I think she found her tree. <3 <3 <3
I did NOT take this photo! Would you believe this is Avery’s shot?! Photographers, watch out. She’s a prodigy! 😉
I think this is my favorite shot from out session. Mary, you are stunning and your relationship with Avery is just perfect.
Happy holidays, McVeighs. See you again, soon!
