I met these lovelies last year when Jenn won the Giving Back session and was elated when Jenn reached out to book again this year. It’s been almost a year since this Indianapolis family photographer shot family photos for the Russells and it was a perfect evening at the park. To make it even more exciting it was the kids’ last-day-of-school-eve and they were thrilled to be out till sunset eating donuts and exploring! 😉

About 15 minutes into our session I found myself just grinning back at Jenn and the kids – they were in constant fits of giggles. Every once in a while I shoot a family that just laughs nonstop and I always find myself wondering if that’s what it’s like in their home, too. With these guys, there’s no doubt in my mind that it is. Their laughter is contagious and if one starts, it’s a domino effect to everyone around them. And even now, as I flip through these images for their 2016 blog teaser, I find myself smiling again… every image is just filled with joy.

100% belly laughs.

One of my favorites from this session. Both of these kiddos ADORE Jenn, but Leah especially idolizes her mom. She was quick to show me her birthday necklace she received early to wear to our session and stole the show with her singing and dancing throughout the evening. 

As Jenn and I were coordinating the evening, I suggested it might be fun to include a special treat for the kids as a last-day-of-school-eve-celebration. It was the perfect picnic overlooking the water and I love how it tells a bit about their family story and traditions.

If you look closely you can see so much about boys in this photo – dirt on the fingers and donuts in hand!
