It’s hard to believe it’s been almost a year since we relocated from Colorado to Indiana. It’s hard to believe that it was this time last year that I made the decision that I would go full-time in 2015, that in a month it will have been a year since we got the news we were leaving Longmont, and in two months it will have been a full year since we got here.
In coming back home to the midwest and becoming an Indianapolis Family Photographer, I decided there was more to this than just being a business and shooting portraits. I believe everyone has unique talents and that each of us should use those for good… and not always just our own gains.
In yesterday’s introduction to Jenn’s family, you can find all the links that will help explain the Giving Back movement of 2015. Jenn is just as sweet in person as she looks in these photos. We spent several months planning and coordinating all the details of this shoot and the day before we were scheduled, I emailed her to see if she was interested in switching up the location. We were scheduled to shoot over Memorial Day, which tends to be a crowded weekend for parks, regardless, but here in Indy, it’s even more intense as people from all over the world come into town for the Indy 500.
Jenn graciously and excitedly agreed to the new location, and it could not have been more perfect. We had the entire place to ourselves, parking was a breeze, and the lighting in these spots creates an ambience that I just haven’t found anywhere else in this city, yet.
There is nothing about this family that isn’t absolutely adorable and perfect. I cannot express enough in words how grateful I am to have met them or that they won the Indianapolis family session giveaway. My fingers are crossed in hopes of shooting them again as they age and grow… and maybe even convincing the whole extended family to make this a tradition just so I can hang out with them annually. 😉
