Indianapolis Family Photographer | casey and her camera
It’s been four years since I’ve been home for a Mother’s Day, so it seemed justifiable that a mini-shoot with my own mother and siblings was pretty high on my agenda. I’d had this on my ‘ulterior motives’ agenda since realizing my May trip would overlap with Mother’s day, and I figured I’d be met with excuses and resistance. Surprisingly, I wasn’t. Everyone agreed (and even let me help pick outfits!), happily put their chosen wardrobe on, fixed their hair, put on a little makeup, and cheerfully headed outside.
Then I got nervous.
It was only a matter of time until people’s patience wore thin, and would be fed up with (and uncomfortable) with the shoot. I fumbled with the tripod, the quilt, and the remote and left a few technicalities up to ‘be edited later’ in my hurry to get things rolling. With a small (but passionate) discussion about shoes (whether or not to wear them), we were on our way!
And everyone was all smiles until the very end.
Mom, who detests being in front of the camera, followed every pose and has even mentioned she may actually like some of these photos. I must have a really good camera or something. 😉 I even got her for a few moments on her own before the real action happened.
And so, without further adieu, the Mom Series. Mom – you look FANTASTIC, and are actually quite photogenic. Who knew… stick you in the middle of a flowery tree or on a backyard swing and you just look like you. I hope you love these photos as much as I do… I’ll be printing them life-size for everyone for Christmas this year. Cardboard cutouts for everyone!
