Beh-beh time!

They’re old postings, I have NO idea how they were sent out, and this NEW posting is my way to make it up to you. Not sure what I’m talking about!? That’s because you’re not subscribed yet! Quick! Remember last week when I posted about my Weekly Favorite Feature on Lemonade and Lenses? Welllllll…. on Friday of last week my risk-taking spree paid off and I officially.became.PUBLISHED.

In the world of photography and photographers published means a LOT of different things. I’m trying to use the words differentially to help folks distinguish between my goals and rewards. Here are my breakdowns:

1. Featured: to be ‘featured’ (see spotlighted or highlighted) in a weekly or monthly posting. Features are in conjunction with other photographers and a sole image of casey and her camera can be found among a collection of images and other ((highly regarded)) peers.

2. Published: to have a collection of casey and her camera images showcased (see gallery) on a photography blog along with credits back to the artist and online presence, as well as written text of, from, or about the artist (casey and her camera).

2a. Published: to have a single or multiple images printed (see PRINTED) in a magazine. This magazine may be digital, only, or in ACTUAL PRINT!!

Ok, now that we got that out of the way, here is what has happened thus far. Last week, 1 & 2 happened… really happened! All those years of protecting my work and my ego in college didn’t pay off, and now taking risks as professional, I am loving this. Now I know why support groups are so strong (and full) among photographers – we need each other!

So, on Friday of last week, I hopped online to find that I.HAD.BEEN.PUBLISHED. A series of images from my recent Lifestyle Photography shoot had been published to a blog I admire and often droll over… a blog FULL of talented professional photographers. And my work is among them! What an absolute honor!

I took a break from blogging and posting and everything else for a few days while I completely basked in all the glory that was last week. I pinched myself to make sure it was real, and then I just sat around for a while with my mouth hanging open like a giant weirdo. I’m back to normal now, though, so no worries!

So if you didn’t catch it this past week, here is this little cutie, FAMOUS and on the blog over at Beyond the Wanderlust! And yes, I am equally as proud to display this button (look right!) as I am the L&L one! I feel like Russell in UP!!
