I recently had one of my favorite engagement sessions to date. I blogged about Ellen when she made our fantastically gorgeous wedding cake for our Michigan reception. You can read about how Ellen and I know each other there! Well, last Christmas Alex popped the question with the ring hidden in a box, inside a box, inside a bigger box… you get the idea. 😉

Of course, Ellen said yes. How could she not? These two are TRULY the most perfect match.

Not to mention this is the LARGEST engagement gallery I have EVER returned to someone – and we shot for less time than normal! That’s what happens when your subjects are naturals… and you already know each other and can just jump right in.

These two are getting married next year out on the west side of Michigan and I get to be there… and I CANNOT WAIT.

I’ve always enjoyed shooting couples and when I first moved to Indiana I thought I was going to really focus on this niche – I was planning on almost exclusively being an Indianapolis couple photographer. Then I switched gears a bit and have been working primarily with families after realizing I missed working with kids. But who’s to say I can’t do both!? Families that have worked with me recently know that my parents get their own couples mini-sesh in the middle of our family shoot. 🙂

And to really express to you just how PERFECT this shoot was, we were only about two minutes into our session and Ellen looks up at Alex and exclaims, ‘I can’t be this close to your face and just not kiss you!’.
