One of the best parts about looking for family photographers in Indianapolis is that there’s a lot of us. Which means there’s something (or someone) for everyone. The truth is, when I first moved here I was intimidated by the abundance of photographers in Indy, but I was quickly welcomed with open arms and found my own little niche among the community. You see, each photographer is exactly what someone is looking for – in posing, in editing style, in product and in pricing. It’s all important when searching for a photographer and here in Indy we are so fortunate to have so many talented individuals each with their own business model and client base. We network together to ensure every family, every couple, every individual finds what they’re looking for so they can have beautiful memories frozen in time to keep forever.
As a photographer I’m always looking to put my finger on my style or brand. I feel like Chandra may have taglined my approach perfectly when she recently thanked me for capturing ‘their crazy’. I think it comes from my mom’s outlook on photos as we were growing up – she wanted them to be natural, comfortable… to ‘look like us’ she would always say. She wanted them to be crazy and I have a photo of me holding Alvin (the chipmunk) on the front porch of the house I grew up in to prove it. The person you are today, at this point in your life, in your childhood, is exactly the person you need to be and this is what I’m trying to freeze into a frame. I’m trying to capture your kind of crazy because we all are. Crazy. And it changes so, so quickly as we age. It’s where my shooting style comes from – to help you hang onto the crazy that you have and look forward to the crazy that is yet to come.
Chandra, you are one truly awesome mom of boys. You can hang with the best of them, and I can see where the boys get their silly side from. You have taught them well. Thank you for trusting me to freeze time for you. Your session most certainly did NOT disappoint… quite the opposite. I couldn’t have asked for anything better than two soaking wet kiddos who left feeling like there wasn’t even a photo session happening. Going through these images brings a smile to my face and reminds me what being a kid is all about.
