My 2019 season is coming to a close and that means I’m 100% caught up on editing, something that almost never happens with balancing running a busy full-time business and being a stay-at-home-momma. This year has been such a whirlwind. Do you ever feel like the year starts out SO.SLOW. and then all of a sudden June hits and then before you know it Christmas is here?! Because I do. I’m never sure where the last 6 months of the year go. I’m baffled that Christmas is less than a week away. How did we get here!?
But…. being all caught up on editing means that images are turned around faster than even I can believe sometimes. It means that this winter lifestyle session from this past Sunday (yep… four days ago!) is on the blog already. And if that’s not mind-boggling, Mateo’s height will just blow you out of the water. He’s turning 5 on Saturday and I swear he’s going to be taller than me by the time he’s 6.
I met Claudia and Mateo last year after they’d moved here to Indianapolis, and the two couldn’t be any nicer or more welcoming. So when Claudia invited me to their home for their session this year, I was thrilled. Claudia said it best, though, calling last year’s session their “welcoming” session, and this year’s session their “you find your place” session. Or, as I like to think of it, as their “welcome home” session.
We spent the time playing and exploring (and snacking!) in all their favorite parts of their new home. Claudia’s mother was there to join us and it was so sweet to see her and Mateo together. We lucked out, because she was supposed to leave to travel home that morning after being with them for several months, but her flight was canceled and she made it back to the house in time for our session. It was meant to be and gives their “welcome home” session another layer of meaning. Happy holidays, Claudia and Mateo, and Merry Christmas!
