Arvin & JD’s wedding at the Mavris was my ‘unofficial’ return from leave and the perfect way to ease (or jump, really) back into things. Every once in a while I work with a couple so closely during the planning process that by the time we get to the wedding day I’m emotionally invested in every passing moment. This was one of those couples for me.
Pair that with the sheer joy and adoration that Arvin wore on his face all day and Jared (their officiant) breaking down the moment they climbed the stairs together to start the ceremony (and the fact that I was/am newly postpartum) and you’ve got yourself a real tearjerker of a day. There were so many stories told throughout the day about how JD and Arvin were just so easily meant to be together right from the start, and it was palpable throughout the day. Both Arvin and JD stole looks of pride at one another throughout the day, sometimes brimming or overflowing with tears, and it was so touching to see each of them from behind the camera.
Surrounded by the people they love, and those who love them most, their celebrations were heartfelt in all the best ways. Hands were squeezed silently and held to their hearts and it was clear by the way they looked at one another that they were each home. There was great attention to detail at every corner and having spent lots of time running in and out of the rain and hiding under makeshift tents at their engagement session gave us time to get to know each other in advance, so capturing all of these little details throughout the day was that much more impactful. I know just how much each of them put into their wedding day and I was grateful to be able to be there to help them capture it all.
Arvin and JD, thank you for trusting me throughout this process and inviting me to be there alongside you as you started this next part of your journey together as husbands!
