It’s the most wonderful time of the year… and the perfect time for a tree farm session! If you’ve been a client of mine before then you already know about my shortie sessions. I try to offer them twice a year, except for this year since Wesley made his appearance during prime creek shortie session time. I tried offering true mini sessions before, ones that are only 10-15 minutes, but I just love to shoot and have found 30 minutes to be perfect for my style… and my clients!

This woman just happens to be the one who sparked the idea for these types of sessions. Remember this session from a few years ago? We’ve shot one of these sessions for her and her family every year since, plus a few other shortie sessions, and they’re always a fave of mine. While things look a little bit different for them this year, Sarah’s love of lifestyle photography and her ability to envision and style things is always a dream to shoot. We ventured out to the always dreamy Dull’s Tree Farm for this session and celebrated with a tree cutting, hot chocolate, and a whole lot of mud on our shoes. As we walked and talked, I learned that Cory’s family grows Christmas trees on their farm and found myself already dreaming up next year’s session. Of course, that’s in Ohio, so….. anyone in Ohio want to book a session!? 🤣

I love seeing the kids grow from year to year and this year I loved seeing the wonderment on their faces as they searched out the perfect tree and Cory cut it down. Of course, I think Dull’s Tree Farm is like an adult Disney with its holiday magic, and wished we could’ve stayed all day. This year’s Christmas shortie was a hit and I hope this is a holiday tradition we’re able to continue for many, many years to come. Happy holidays, all, and thanks for having us, Dull’s!
