Trent and Emily are another one of my 2020 couples who waited an extra year to celebrate when their plans were thrown a COVID curveball. A lot happened over the course of the year, including a new home for this sweet couple, and being able to finally celebrate them was such a thrill. Emily is, quite possibly, one of the sweetest people I’ve ever met and is a quiet giver – always making sure those around her are taken care of and loved. To see her surrounded by family and friends who returned that sentiment all day long filled my heart to the brim for her.
With the year delay for their wedding, this Willows Event Center wedding marked my first of two weddings at this (new to me) venue for May. But before I walked into their jaw-dropping reception space, I spent the morning at Iron Works Hotel in the most gorgeous industrial chic space with more windows than my photographer heart could have ever dreamed of. Emily’s bouquet won me over from the moment I set eyes on it, but if you saw my recent Instagram story, you’ll know that their reception space took my breath away. The use of color was so perfectly paired with neutrals and gave me all the candy-spring feels that gave me life. Everywhere I turned there were gorgeous floral centerpieces making everything pop and the The Gallery Pastry Shop’s cake stealing the show center floor. But then I turned around and their macaroon display and gift table was just the icing on the cake.
Emily and Trent saw each other for the first time during their ceremony and I loved the little side-eyes I kept catching Trent stealing of Emily during their time at the church. The whole day was just perfect, but the moment that stole my heart more than anything else was the first look between Emily and her dad. She had warned me that it would be emotional, but I don’t think I was prepared for just how much it would be.
Emily and Trent – thank you for having me along for the whole journey, including the year delay in the middle! It was wonderful to be able to celebrate you both and see it all finally come together. Congratulations once again!
