I’m usually not a fan of summer – it’s a slow time for family photographers in Indianapolis. Indy summers are normally unbearably hot, sticky, humid and buggy, but this year, Mother Nature has been really gracious towards us. We’ve had this amazingly mild, only-slightly-humid summer that’s been really pleasant in the evenings. This creek is my all-time favorite spot to shoot at, but it only works certain times of year due to water levels and flooding, lighting, humidity (and bugs!), and tree cover. I tried to spend time down here last summer, but was drowned out by humidity. The tree cover really traps everything in and you feel like you’re in a rain forest! This summer I was spoiled and was able to spend all the time in the world down by the water and am already dreaming of the changing seasons as all this foliage starts to golden for fall. <3
This momma is a woman after my own heart. She loves lifestyle photography and wants to see her family captured in the moment, freezing the emotion of each little moment as her babies grow up. You may remember this family from this holiday session. Oh, I swoon every time I look back at that session and I’m so excited to shoot similar sessions with some of you this year! Her love for in-the-moment candids surpasses even my own and this family is truly a treat to shoot. Of course, creek sessions call to me unlike any other session (okay… maybe lifestyle sessions) because of their free flowing (pun intended) nature. There’s no avoiding the call of nature with these sessions – I guarantee your clothes will be wet, your feet will be gritty, your hearts will be full, … and your kids will be soaked to the bone. 😉 This is what childhood looks like. <3
This. <3 One face in a series of faces reacting to Dad skipping a rock. <3

Lovely session, so natural and free feeling. xo
I absolutely adore these! What a fun little moment to have captured.
I love sessions by the water. These are beautiful.
I love that you let them be family and be kids in their portraits. That’s what we as moms will love having as memories when they’re older!
I love these so much!! They are so real and genuine and perfect. What a lucky family to have such precious photos of their love for one another <3
These are GORGEOUS!!! The family and the location couldn’t be more perfect. I love the shot of Dad holding his boy up.
Love the playfulness of this family session! They look like they really enjoyed themselves!
