Natalie and Matt celebrated their marriage last year in a day that will always be one of my favorite weddings shot. There was so much intention and sentiment tucked into every corner and detail of their day and I’m a sucker for good story. It’s worth a read – go ahead and zip on over to the post to soak it all in.
For their almost-anniversary, we are celebrating something something a little bit different… and in two parts! Natalie and Matt met me for their summer maternity session at the start of June, during a time of most confusing radar predictions and weather reports. Of course, they brought along Kevin and Douglas, too, which filled my heart to the brim – these are their first children and they deserve to be in the family photos, too. More than anything, they enjoyed romping through the weeds while we tried to bribe them with tennis balls.
We waited out the first part of the storm and managed to get half of the session in, and scheduled part two of our session for a day with more promising skies… and sunshine. The most glorious evening of sunshine there ever was for a maternity session. I’ve been binge-sharing their session over on Instagram, but this is really the icing on the cake. Natalie and I were texting a few days ago (mostly about how she should be a hair model) and agreed that we really lucked out with our spontaneous decision to postpone our second half. We got the best of everything (and cooler temps for the second round!) and I couldn’t be more excited to share these with them… especially now that we’re only a couple of weeks out from their due date!
Natalie and Matt, thank you so very much for going with the flow and for allowing me to capture these fleeting moments for you. I’ve adored getting to know you both over the last year and am thrilled for you all as you jump into the journey of parenthood.
