It’s hard for me to believe that Angelica and Aaron’s Detroit Institute of Arts wedding was almost 5 years ago, now. Where has the time gone? I’ve seen these two a few times over the years since, and each and every time is a delight. There’s nothing more rewarding than showing up to photograph one of my couples years after their wedding and seeing them just as head-over-heels for one another as they were on their wedding day. Angelica and Aaron’s summer maternity session was a perfect example of just that.

Of course, Aaron has the gift of making people laugh and saying exactly what you need to hear at precisely the right moment, so we spent most of the evening giggling like kids and catching up on the craziness that is 2020 life. But best of all, are all the hidden details Angelica included in this session from their wedding celebrations. One of the best parts of this job has been watching families and couples grow and change over the years, and being invited back to document it all. As these two draw closer to welcoming their little one into the world (only a couple of weeks now!), I couldn’t be more excited to see them become parents and grow into a family of three.
