Kelsey and Will have had their engagement session on the calendar since March, but 2020, as we all know, has brought about many challenges. Kelsey was just about to give up on getting this session in after our who-knows-how-many reschedule, but I like to think I was convincing enough and we picked one more night. And it turned out to be beautiful.
While they were originally planning for a winter session at Lizton Lodge, where they’ll be celebrating later this year, we ended up with a gorgeous evening for a summer engagement session and I’m thrilled about all the lush greens we had instead. Kelsey planned every aspect of their wardrobe, props, and even her hair to fit a retro, 1950’s style and I am here for it. Every detail was perfectly coordinated and suited her and Will perfectly.
We took full advantage of the space and the light and walked all over the park for this session. We soaked up every last bit of light down by the water before hoofing it (ok, basically jogging) back to our cars to make it out of the park on time. I’ve never asked clients to walk so fast before and felt terrible all the way home, but then Kelsey sent me the most wonderful GIF and I felt like a new friendship was born right there in text. 😂 In looking back now, it was all 100% worth it – the wait, the reschedules, the changes, the long, uphill jog to the cars. This session was the icing on top of a burnt-cupcake-of-a-few-months and I could not be more excited for their fall wedding.
Kelsey and Will, thanks for sticking it out with me through this spring. I’m so thankful to have met you both and to have spent this wonderful evening together.
