Jess and I have been in contact about her fall wedding for about a year now, and she’s been a supporter of my work for even longer. I thought that Jess and I were only connected through Jaclyn, whose wedding I photographed at Planterra a few years ago, but when it turns out that Jess was actually a student of mine when I did my student teaching. She graduated at the end of that year, and now 13 years later our paths have crossed again and I have the honor of documenting her wedding in October.
Jess and Chris live out on the west side of the state, where their wedding will be, but made the drive out to see me for their Saline Michigan engagement session. Our night couldn’t have been any more perfect (even without any sun!) as you can clearly see by these wildflowers on the hillside behind them. Jess had the most perfectly coordinated outfits for each of them, complete with the cutest hat borrowed from a friend. She claimed she never wears hats, but this one seemed made for her and it was the perfect accessory to our shots.
To Jess and Chris, I’m so excited to have finally met you (and met you again, Jess!) and I cannot wait to celebrate you both when the trees start to turn. I’ll see you in the fall!
