I always ask my couples to share a bit of their story with me when we first meet, and again when they book. It gives them a chance to think through what’s most important to know about them and helps me get a feel for the love we’re celebrating as they say their vows. Sarah couldn’t have said it better when she wrote out her story. Amongst amazing tales of shared dreams, adventures around the world, hiking and mountain climbing beautiful places around the globe, she write, ‘he is my person and I am his’.

Their story is one of those ‘meant to be’ journeys. Through mountain climbing and zombie movies (bad zombie movies, specifically), paella and PHD programs, they laid the foundation for their life together and Matt proposed at the top of Kilimanjaro – a goal they unknowingly shared before they knew one another. Matt had a ring designed in tanzanite, a stone found at the base of the African mountain.

As Sarah and Matt planned their marriage to one another, they wanted it to remain small and personal. Their Newfields elopement perfectly celebrated them and the adventures that lead them to this day. Family stood alongside them as they said their vows amongst family at Newfields and friends greeted them in celebration at The Aristocrat, for a small reception. From the getting ready shots at their Broad Ripple home, to their first look at Locally Grown Gardens, photos on the Monon and a toast at their favorite brewery to top things off, the day was filled with little snippets of their favorite things about their Indiana home.

To Sarah and Matt, thank you for letting me be a part of this day with you. It was beautiful and personal from start to finish and was a perfect tribute to the couple you are. Here’s to many years of happiness and successful climbs!
