This fall has been a rollercoaster of a ride – between the leaves turning early and then disappearing completely, from 30 degree weather in mid-October to nearly-80 degree weather in November, I just don’t know what to make of it anymore. So when Rachael and her girls showed up to their mother and daughter session in the more festive colors, I was so excited to find little spots that added to the cheeriness of their outfits. Not to mention, we had an unseasonably warm day for our shoot, so it suddenly felt like a spring session instead of a fall session.
Rachael’s girls are bundles of energy and giggled their way through our session – my favorite kind of kids to photograph. And lucky for me, they were up for a major trek out to the back of a field to capture some of the prettiest remaining fall color. This was my first time photographing this trio, but we fell right into a groove and it felt so familiar as they skipped down paths, twirled in their dresses, and snuggled their Mama. And giggled. We giggled A LOT.
This fall season has been so good to me. I probably say that every year if I look back through my posts, but there’s just something about the busiest time of the year, followed by a nice, slow season, that just makes me feel so grateful to be able to call this my job and to be able to capture these moments for families as they grow and change. To each and every one of you, thank you. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. And I hope to see you again in 2021!
