Kelsey and Will tied the knot (literally) on the most gorgeous fall day to date. As I drove up the long, winding drive for their Lizton Lodge wedding my jaw literally fell open and I oohed and aahed outloud. Did I mention it’s a long, winding, tree-lined drive? In fall? And all of the trees are red? Well, now I did. And you can see it in all its glory in the preview image for this post. It’s basically my dream driveway and Kelsey and Will lucked out with this season’s early-changing leaves that showed up (and showed off) on their wedding day. And don’t worry… we took full advantage.
Kelsey and Will are both Disney fanatics and the capturing their wedding day showed me just how interwoven Disney was into their childhoods, as well. Kelsey even received Will’s childhood Pooh Bear as a gift before she walked down the aisle and I couldn’t keep a dry eye from behind my camera. All of the little details woven into their day made their Disney themed wedding come to life – from the flower girls’ wreaths to the centerpieces, from the cake topper to the light sabers they drew as they walked back down the aisle together. It was so perfectly them and after months of COVID wedding planning, it was so beautiful to see it all come together for them.
My favorite kinds of weddings are the ones filled with personal stories and sentimental details. Lucky for me, these are also the types of couples I seem to attract, and Kelsey and Will’s wedding was no exception to this. Some of my favorite moments throughout the day included Kelsey and her father’s first look where they unknowingly exchanged gifts that were so similar in nature, only a close father and daughter could’ve ever thought so similarly, the letters Kelsey gifted to Will before the ceremony, and I already told you about Pooh.
To Kelsey and Will, thank you for having me along on this extraordinarily wild ride that has been 2020 wedding season (and planning!). You handled every curve ball with a smile and such grace. I’m so thrilled to have been there with you all as it all came together. Congratulations to you both and enjoy the rest of this year as newlyweds!
