What better way to return to work after a couple of wintery months off and inside snuggling my own babe than with a lifestyle newborn session? I personally can’t think of one. Molly reached out to me just a few days after Austen made her early arrival. It always amazes me how natural new parents look when I meet them for the first time to photograph them as a new family. I know from personal experience, that on the other side of things it feels new and unfamiliar, and sometimes awkward, carefully cradling your new little one, but from any outsider’s perspective all new parents look like complete pros and naturals. It’s just as it was meant to be, yet each time I find myself overwhelmed with the beauty of these tiny moments unfolding in front of me.
Molly and Dustin killed it with the nursery game, too. On our first trip into Austen’s room, I took a moment to take in all of the details they put their time into while designing the space. Of course, they have a gorgeous downtown Indy home with exposed brick and all kinds of cool, historical character with modern twists to it, but by the time we were back in the nursery I finally asked them about the space. There are lots of elements of space and giraffes throughout, and even some giraffes in space, and I was delighted to learn that I was spot on. The theme of the nursery is giraffes in space… and it’s officially my new favorite nursery theme.
Congratulations to these two on their newest little family member! Thank you for letting me help you savor these sweet moments!
