Elizabeth and Andrew may be the wedding couple I’ve photographed most over the years and I’ve decided I love it and that all couples should have multiple engagement shoots leading up to their wedding. It made things that much more fun on the day of their Indianapolis Industry wedding! Elizabeth is a woman after my own heart. I remember when we met she commented on how much she appreciated my organization and list-making and, let’s face it, my total Type A personality. It turns out, the feeling is mutual, as everything ran on time and even early (yes, that’s right… a wedding timeline that ran ahead of schedule) and every little detail was considered in the planning process. Photographers, this is important, did you know there are SLOW BURNING candles for weddings? Yep. It’s true. That last-minute rush to shoot reception details before guests enter because the tea lights and candles have just been lit? Not a thing with this wedding. 🙌🏼Elizabeth made sure these were a part of their decor so the candles could be lit before guests arrived for their ceremony. Since they entered into the reception space, it made all the difference in the ambiance of the event. Of course, my little photographer heart just about burst out of my chest when she told me this because it not only meant I was able to take time to truly capture the details of their reception space, but it meant that I was able to do it before the ceremony and take advantage of the gorgeous natural light pouring into the space. It was one of those set ups that took my breath away.
More important than long-lasting candles were the special little items sprinkled throughout Elizabeth and Andrew’s day. Andrew had the most amazing tie and pocket square I’ve ever seen on a groom (and even my husband has oogled it while seeing it during editing) and Elizabeth’s dad grew all of the rosemary they used for their table decor (and brought it all the way from Arkansas). Elizabeth shared a first look with her dad in the ceremony space adorned with his hard work and green thumb and Andrew’s head brushed the beautiful greenery above their ceremony space. The day was filled with laughter and tears, the best kind, just as a wedding day should be. There were many favorite moments throughout the day, but the one that takes the cake for me was following these newlyweds out of their ceremony to watch them steal a second first kiss as husband and wife.
To Elizabeth and Andrew, your story is perfect and beautiful and I feel so luck to have met you both. Here’s to many more photo sessions over the years. Congratulations once more!
