Becca and Peter tied the knot last month at their AMAZING home in Kula, HI. It was my first time in Hawaii, but everything I had imagined about love and warmth and friendliness came together right in front of my eyes on their big day… 6.29.13. I was blown away by the colors, the people, the song (yes, singing!), and general loving nature of the entire day.

The day started in song… naturally. This is Becca and her new sister-in-law practicing for the groom’s serenade.

Having never been to Hawaii, I wasn’t sure what to expect for wedding attire. The guests most certainly did not disappoint. Color for daaayyyysss, people. Of course, you can’t see it here in my beautiful black and white. Let’s focus, instead, on these patterns!

I caught the sweetest of moments between mother and daughter. There was an emotional moment followed by some giddy vow writing. Right place, right time!

My second shooter, Marissa, of I Do Weddings Maui caught the groom practicing his own vows. 😉 She’s got her own site over at The Arts at Heart.

Peter was adamant about NOT seeing Becca before she came down the isle. Without a first look shoot pre-wedding, Marissa and I lined up and focused so that we could catch his face. Check out his expression as she comes into view for him. Absolutely priceless.

We battled a bit of weather (Hey, rain on your wedding day is good luck! Does this work in Hawaii, too!?) but it made for some awesome skies and some ‘action’ shots.

Nothing like getting every wedding guest together in the yard for a sunset picture… in the rain… in Hawaii. Everybody say “WOOOHOOOOO!”

Oh, yeah. And I forgot to mention, this wedding was a Pinterest-Lovers, DIY-Junkie’s absolute dream. It was awesome to see family and friends coming together, all hands on deck, weeks, days, and even hours before the event to make everything fall together.
