Gosh, do I feel lucky. It’s one thing to be chosen as a family’s photographer from the abundance of Indianapolis photographers, but when it’s a family’s first time EVER getting family photos done?! Well, then I’m on cloud 9. Several months ago, Caitlyn scheduled their first ever family photo session and between the two of us, I’m not sure who was more excited for our evening at the park. I’m always in communication with my clients leading up to their session – I like to coordinate colors and locations and all sorts of goodness as I prepare for a session. Every family is different and having some of the picture already painted in my mind prior to starting a session really helps me customize the experience and make the most of our time together.

So when Caitlyn emailed me the day before out session with a quick snapshot of their outfits, I was over the moon. Not only does she have great taste, but everything just flowed so perfectly with the season and the lighting. I’m pretty sure I need to hire her to style all of my sessions! 😉

Turns out, this family is just the all around sweetest, with the most adorable real-life love story I’ve heard in a while. They scheduled their session one day before their four-year wedding anniversary, but that’s not even the best part. The magic of it all is that they’ve been together since they were 15 years old. High school freshman sweethearts, happily, wonderfully married, with two beautiful kids and the happiest of lives. We made sure to get in a couple of parent shots to help them celebrate their love and spent the rest of the time laughing with the kids and playing with Shae, the family dog. Have I mentioned how much I LOVELOVELOVE family sessions with dogs!? Looks like Shae loved it, too. <3
