This week marks a milestone on a variety of things and as I woke up with the sun on this perfectly peaceful Monday morning I had a multitude of thoughts running through my brain – none of which made me anything less than smile.

You see… this month is the official launch of my time as an Indianapolis Photographer. This week kicks off my first sessions of the 2015 season – my first sessions of my first year as a full-time photographer. Making it through the slow season (i.e. WINTER) was not easy, but I did it. Not only did I make it, but I accomplished some massively long to-do lists that have been written up and on the ‘I’ll get to it someday’ list for years.

Not only am I kicking off the season this week, but I’m launching it with my favorite-photography-holiday of the year. Mother’s Day. Every year I’ve been home on Mother’s Day since 2010 (which may have only been twice) we’ve wrangled everyone into one spot for some tripod-remote photo action and these are some of my favorites each year because we NEVER take family photos… not when anyone is having fun, anyway. Putting the camera on a tripod and using a remote inevitably ends in fits of laughter every. SINGLE. TIME.

So later this week keep an eye on the blog for a mom-and-me session, a family shoot with one of my favorite little faces of all time, maybe a mini-grad shoot if I can convince the college graduate 😉 , and family shots. Until then, here’s a list of milestones that are happening in my life this week and throughout the month:

1. 7 months in our first house.
2. 1 year since our reception.
3. 7 years since our first date.
4. Denim & Grace releases the Beauty Revived issue TODAY.
5. My first real feeling of this being our home.
6. The first Michigan session of the season!
7. The first INDIANAPOLIS session of the season!
8. One month until the East Coast sessions.
