YOU GUYS. Have I mentioned how over-the-top EXCITED I am for my couples this year? I made the decision late last year to take on a small number of Indianapolis weddings this year and I could not be more pumped about the couples I will be working with. Every.single.one of them is a PERFECT fit and I am on the edge of my seat to begin my Indianapolis Photographer wedding season. … but first I get to start with the engagement photos!
Up first, is this adorable blended family. Carrie and I excitedly agreed on Central Park (by the Monon Center in Carmel) for the session and I already had the whole thing planned out in my head. You see, when we first moved here, we lived in Southport, but regularly made the commute up to the park with our pup as we were exploring different neighborhoods. The west side of the park is was my favorite with its open fields, winding trails, hibiscus flowers, and rounded hill. I had been itching to shoot a session there for over a year and it was finally my chance. I showed up earlier than usual to scope out my spots and they’re building on my beautiful canvas! I couldn’t believe it – completely changed from the last time I had been! Now, I’m all excited about progress and expanding the Monon Center… I think it’s a great place for families, but as a photographer I was bummed.
It all worked out, though, because it turns out the east side of the park is just as beautiful as the west. 😉 I scoped out a few new spots and got outside of my comfort zone experimenting with these new locations and I could not be happier with how these turned out. Congratulations, Carrie and Justin… cannot wait for August!
Oh! And tell Rylan, ‘donkey’. 🙂
I have several favorites from this session…. this is the first in this post…
This is my second, and possibly my all-time, favorite. I ADORE this one. It totally tells the story of them in one giant fit of laughter.
I showed up to their session (as I do with most of my sessions) in rainboots. I had plans to get into the water on the west side of the park, and after a short hike from the parking lot, we were still able to make this happen. And I love the results!
Another favorite!! <3 <3 <3
See?! Rainboots are necessary for my shoots. I’m only glad I didn’t see the snake until I was back on the boardwalk.
