As I begin to wrap up my 2016 Indianapolis photographer wedding season, I have to admit I’m going to miss all of these pretty little wedding posts. I’ve enjoyed spending my Saturdays/Sundays basking in the glow of my client’s love this season… not to mention surrounded by delicious smelling flowers and nibbling on delightfully sweet cakes. Everything about this season has been so surreal for me and I’m just all smiles as I work my way through these images to deliver them to these clients.
I am seriously jazzed about sharing this one with you – not only is this couple perfectly adorable, but they were the second-ever wedding to happen at the newly opened Barn at Bay Horse Inn in Greenwood, Indiana and I just drooled over the styling of every little detail of this rustic venue. And, helloooo… any venue that has an authentic log cabin for me to shoot as my backdrop!? Sold. Where do I sign!?
I met Mia and her mother earlier this year when they had just started their planning process. Sweet as can be, we booked them a package and as we started to build the timeline, we expanded to make sure we could catch every.single.detail of the day. Mia and Brady included all of their favorite things throughout their day (as it should be!) and there were plenty of flowers, cowboy boots, love notes, and stolen kisses to document as their day progressed. And Julie Hollis (of Julie’s Flowers of Geist, LLC) totally knocked it out of the park with her colors and styling. Always a pleasure when I get to meet the creatives behind their hard work on a wedding day – such a treat to see her in action!
Read between the lines below for some sweet stories from this special September day!
Ugh. Can this just be my backyard someday? Complete with flowers and the nice man who helped me hang this beauty up for this shot. Mia studied abroad in Spain in college and while there fell in love with this dress. Fast forward to Brady proposing and wedding planning and Mia thought for sure she would have to lose an arm and a leg to get this dress and get it here in time. But as the fates would have it, no extra charge and it arrived in plenty of time. They say that some things are just meant to be.
I took this shot before Julie wrapped Mia’s bouquet for her, but I’m totally digging the loose-stem look. I’m thinking 2017 wedding trend.
Mia is the first of her siblings to get married. She’s also the oldest child and first daughter. And in honor of that, her Daddy carried a photo of her in his jacket pocket throughout the day. The photo was of a little 6-year-old Mia on her very first day of Kindergarten. He talked about that day and that photograph in his welcome speech and I’m pretty sure there wasn’t a dry eye in the place.
My favorite. Just steal my heart and run away with it. And for those of you who asked me if Brady cried during their first look, who wouldn’t after taking time to read sweet love letters written to each other about seeing each other for the first time on their wedding day.
Such a cool space to hold an event in. Plenty large for big, big weddings, and gorgeous styling down to the details and decor in the guest bathrooms.
A shout out to all the amazing vendors who contributed… none of this is possible without you!
