I’ve been waiting to meet this family since fall of last year when we were trying to schedule a family session, but then when Amanda found out she was expecting, she decided to wait until spring to document them as a family of five. Will made his debut a bit earlier than expected and we pushed their newborn lifestyle session up to the start of the month.
Amanda had gone the route of more traditional Indianapolis newborn photography with her girls, but wanted to do something a little different for Will’s arrival. She found me through a friend of hers and after seeing their lifestyle sessions, knew that was exactly what she was looking for. She also had the opportunity to be a part of a local newborn workshop, so she still lucked out with some of the more traditional and posed shots of Will, too! For our session, though, the focus was on them as a family, and capturing them as they are in this moment in time.
A few days before our session I had posted about loving lifestyle newborn sessions when the babies are awake – at least for a part of it. Will really pulled through for us, only sleeping for about 30 seconds of the entire 2-hour session. 🤣 He’s a very lucky little guy with two of the most caring big sisters you could ever ask for. They are so sweet and gentle with him, wanting nothing more than to snuggle and love on him all day long. And they’re the two best helpers to Greg and Amanda. When I first came into their home, everything was so quiet and calm with Will curled up in his sister’s lap taking a nap while Mom and Dad had time to get ready.
Every newborn session looks and feels a bit different to me, but I never have any trouble finding favorites to share (hence my long blog posts) and this session is no exception to that.
