After spending an afternoon in Michigan photographing two families (see that past two posts!) this Indianapolis lifestyle photographer headed out to Chicago for a day packed full with three families. First up, a session at Northwestern University Law School and Navy Pier. Lucky for me, I arrived early enough to snag a spot in front of the school and have time to brush my teeth in their bathroom. Hah! Sounds strange, but when you’re spending a couple of days on the road, you do what you can. 😉

I connected to this family through a mutual friend and it couldn’t have been a better match. They’re ((obviously)) adorable and were up for every adventure we had planned. We really made the most of our time and even made it out to the pier for a ride on the carousel, a quick trip through the gardens (I could shoot for HOURS in there… it’s a photographer’s dream), and even a little snack in the food court. It was the perfect way to kick start my day in Chicago and I look forward to going back to shoot this family again when their next little arrives!

Also… it’s shots like these that define why I do what I do. <3 These images are just as much for them 10, 20, even 30 years down the road as they are for you right now. Maybe even more.

Have I mentioned how much he LOVELOVELOVES Star Wars!?

Okay… this may have been the most adorable thing that happened during our time together and I wa struggling to keep it together enough to steady the camera through my laughter. He’s practicing a soccer move (Mom and Dad, help me out here… what’s it called?) and I’ve never seen it look better.

We spent a bit of time outside on the pier, but I wish we had ventured indoors a bit sooner. These shots at Crystal Gardens are my favorite!
