It’s been a while since you’ve seen *part* of this family. Remember the infamous sink bath? Well, here’s this cutie at about twice her size from her previous session… and more than twice her age! I’ve known her Momma and Daddy for a long time now – her Momma and I go way back… it’s coming up on ten years (TEN YEARS!!!) since these lovebirds tied the knot and I had the honor in standing up along side them as they said ‘I do’.
And having that honor means I also know their amazing parents who are standing beside them in these photos. Having been around these families… this family now for all these years, walking into the house to see them on the night of the shoot felt like visiting relatives. I am always welcomed with giant hugs, huge smiles, and warm reminiscing and catching up on life that has happened.
This is one of my favorite families.
Of course, this image could not be more perfect and was one of the first shots fired off for this session. Every expression, every mannerism, is p.e.r.f.e.c.t.. This is them. This is what family photos should look like… like the people in the photo. I may even blow this up for my own office wall. 😉
I was so excited to see this family that I actually got pulled over for speeding on my way to meet them at their house. It’s true. I can’t make this stuff up. And as the cop asked me where I was headed, as he let me off with a warning) I had no idea it would turn out that my destination is his home town and that he knows every member of this family. I LOVE small towns.
And I haven’t sped since. Promise. 😉 I’m a good little traveling Indianapolis family photographer.
Sage had other ideas in mind for our session… mostly one idea… mostly just swinging on the swings. The start of our session turned out to be a bit hard for her. She couldn’t understand why we were all standing and posing when ALL OF THE KIDS were playing on the playground and swinging.
Don’t worry, Sage. I’m not sure I understand being a grown up, either.
It all worked out in the end as we changed up locations and went adventuring in fields of wildflowers (i.e. weeds) and climbed mountains (i.e. hills) and finally settled down to snuggle with Bunny. By far my favorite session to-date of these fantastic people and I look forward to many more to come… with maybe a lake house session thrown in there!? YES, PLEASE!!
Christi and JoAnn… this needs to be blown up HUGE in your houses. She will adore this as she grows bigger. I already adore it. <3 <3 <3
Also, this. <3 <3 <3
