We had a super adventurous end to our week, and an equally busy weekend to follow. At the end of last week, Wesley met his second cousin and his Great Grandma for the first time ever and it was just about as magical as it could get. Amy and Josh made the trip out from St. Louis for a special lady’s 90th birthday party, and on the way, stopped in to see us and spend an evening resting – road tripping with a 4 month old is no joke! During their stay, we planned to sneak over to the park and get a quick milestone session in for Rob’s four month photos. Wouldn’t you know, it started pouring as we planned out or evening session. More on that here! Having your subjects staying in your home, and living next door to the park, made it all easy as the skies cleared and Amy rushed off to do her makeup. We made it over to the park for some perfect lighting and got a solid session in before Rob let us know we were done. Lol.
If you’ve been following my journey with Wesley on my personal Instagram, you may recognize the space featured in the end of this post. Over the last year, I’ve made it a monthly tradition to get individual shots of Wesley, and have shot them all on the bed in the master bedroom. It has great lighting and, well let’s face it, it’s nice and soft in the event he face plants. Which happens often.
Amy had brought along the sweetest little pajama outfit for Rob and once he let us know he was done at the park, there was no getting him to come back around. We missed out on including his wardrobe change at the end of our session, which only gave Amy and I an excuse to ‘play studio’ in the morning before we all headed east to take the boys to meet their Great Grandma for the first time! Rob put on his best show for us as he rolled all around and even sat for a few. It was such a treat having family in town visiting and we cannot wait to see them again!
