If these faces look familiar to you it’s because they eloped earlier this year and we all drooled over their photos for quite some time afterwards. One of my favorite things about working with couples who are getting married – whether they are eloping or having a big ceremony – is getting to work with them multiple times and really get to know them. More often than not, this comes in the form of an engagement session prior to their event, but sometimes it also comes as an anniversary session or something else unique to the client.
With elopements, the time between planning and saying ‘I do’ doesn’t always allow for an engagement session, so let’s just call it a newlywed session and schedule it after the wedding! While engagement sessions give couples a chance to get familiar with my style, and I with theirs, the real goal is to capture what I like to call the ‘plain clothes’ portraits. These are the portraits that capture this time in your life – your style, your relationship, even the city you live in.
Lindley and Zeke added on this sweet session to their elopement package and it was such a treat to reconnect with them just a few months after their ceremony. Of course, shooting in September in the midwest means it will either be in the 60’s or 90’s and in this case we had the latter. Lindley and Zeke were troopers through it all and even managed a quick wardrobe change. We shot along the canal walk downtown and even had the gondola make an appearance in the background – a true capture of Indianapolis. Lindley and Zeke, it was so great to see you both again. Thanks for a laughter-filled evening!
