This was my last session while up in Michigan for some fall traveling sessions this season. I headed out on the most beautiful morning drive through the country out to the property where these two live with their two dogs, two cats, and yes…. their pet pig, Violet.
I’ve known Beth now for 7 (BETH! Did you know it’s been SEVEN years!?) and I met her when I helped coach volleyball and then we went on to help coach softball and ran the girls strength and conditioning programs for both programs. We basically spent afternoons and weekends together for two years straight. And it was AWESOME. You see, Beth is hilarious. It’s near impossible to NOT be laughing ALL.THE.TIME. when you’re with her.
But then about 5 years ago I left Michigan and headed west onto the many adventures life had in store for me, eventually settling into this job that I love so dearly. So when Beth contacted me at the last minute to squeeze in a couple session while I was up in the mitten for a few days in October, I rearranged my plans to get her in and it was so worth it! I love being a traveling Indianapolis couple photographer… and working with pets!
We shot for about 30 minutes and then got rained out. We decided to reschedule the second half of our session for December, but as we stood around chatting and catching up on life (sooooo much can happen in five years!) it stopped raining, the sky turned into my favorite dramatic clouds and we picked up again to wrap up our session with the most gorgeous fall foliage I’ve had this season.
I know what you’re really wanting to know, though, and it’s about Violet! Who wouldn’t want to know about the pig!? Beth and Chris rescued Vi after having a couple conversations about getting a pet pig. She came to them malnourished and mistreated, but quickly realized that she has it made with these two. She has plenty of land to roam about, two pups to keep her company, and a warm house to call home. You guys… she gets to live inside!!! She truly is their baby and the first member of their family that they adopted together, tying them all together into one perfect little bundle.
Hah! This is so them. 😉
Coincidentally, this booger’s name is also Casey. So while we were traipsing through the fields for our session, I got a kick out of responding every time they yelled at and for Casey. I think they enjoyed it, too!
Hello, gorgeous puppy eyes. <3 <3 <3
This foliage. I died. And on a cloudy day the colors just sang!
My favorite. I love me some moody skies and gorgeous people.
And the cutest couple award goes to……
casey and her camera is an Indianapolis Couple Photographer specializing in couple, lifestyle, senior, wedding and family photography for Indianapolis, Indiana and the surrounding areas.
