It’s been far too long since I first shot a vow renewal at the Central Library in downtown Indianapolis, leaving me counting the days until this wedding happened and it was everything I dreamed it would be and more. Katie and Sean are both avid readers and their Indianapolis Central Library wedding was the perfect way for them to tie their love of books into their celebrations. Their engagement session downtown was absolutely epic last year and closing out our time together with photos around the grounds of the library and out on the mall just felt right – like the perfect bookends.

The way our timeline played out left us with tons of time to play with portrait spots all over the library and Katie and I took it and ran with it. These are hands-down my favorite bridal portraits from this year, complete with dust and bits of old pages puffing out of the books as Katie opened them and everything. And no wedding day is complete without blood, sweat, and tears, right? The last two are obvious – summer weddings are never without a bit of sweat and if you can zoom in on Sean as Katie made her way down the aisle you’d see the tear (maybe just one?), but the first is usually avoidable. Luckily bandaids were plentiful and Katie’s twice-stomped toe made it through just fine. 😉

Katie and Sean, thank you for allowing me to be a part of your celebrations. Everything was gorgeous (like I gasped in awe when I climbed the staircase to take the full-room reception photos) and I can only imagine it was as magical as you had envisioned it would be.
