Tis the season of wedding planning! Photographing wedding details is one of my favorite parts of shooting a wedding. There is so much to be said about a couple’s story within the details they’ve chosen to decorate and adorn them on their wedding day. From the bouquets to the jewelry, from the shoes to the invitations. These details sometimes let us in on the sentimental backstory behind a couple’s milestones leading up to their wedding. We can find lyrics to favorite songs, favorite colors, an heirloom item passed down from generation to generation and more. It’s the wedding details that set the tone for the style or vibe of a wedding, that fill in between the lines within a wedding album, or highlight some of the couple’s favorite local businesses and vendors.

Among the wedding details, I sometimes have a chance to see (and even shoot!) the wedding party gifts. One of my favorite choices for the groomsmen gift? An engraved flask.
