I don’t normally blog on a weekend, but spending some time getting caught up means taking advantage of every spare minute I have… and that means blogging on a Saturday afternoon. It’s almost hard to imagine that I’ve been with Sabrina and Steve for so many milestones now – it’s been a whirlwind of a couple of years between pandemic living and documenting their live events. We had two engagement sessions, a backyard wedding, a maternity session, and now this sweet four month lifestyle session for their baby boy. And even at that, we had to break this session into two parts because of the weather, so this one counts as two, too.
They didn’t do newborn photos with Jack, so this was his big debut and he handled it like a rockstar. He smiled, he played, he snuggled, and he even slept for the first part of our session – something I was NOT expecting from a four month old. I figured we’d be too distracting, but he didn’t mutter a single complaint and just drifted away to sleep in his parents’ arms as they danced in the kitchen as tradition would have it.
We finished up our session a couple of days later on a sunny afternoon so that we could recreate some of their backyard wedding moments, this time as a family of three. We shot in the same place they said their vows, in front of their first home as a couple and now a family, and Jack was game for all of it. He especially loved looking up at the leaves fluttering overhead.
Sabrina and Steve (and Jack), thank you for trusting me to capture your lives as you’ve grown and changed over these past couple of years. I have loved every second (and image) of it and wish you all the happiest of holiday seasons as a family of three!
