I’ve spent the last 24 hours or so telling the story of these two and their Fountain Square Lifestyle Engagement Session over on Instagram. If you haven’t had a chance to follow along yet, I highly recommend breaking momentarily to head there and get all the goods, first, before reading this post.
I met Kate and Andrew last year and immediately knew I liked them and wanted to work with them. They’re getting married later this year amongst a close group of family and friends, with a beautiful mixture of Chinese and American wedding traditions, and it’s going to be glorious. They had shared with me from the beginning, that they were really looking to focus on themselves as a couple, so when Kate scheduled their engagement session for (what is normally) the dead of winter here in Indianapolis, I was intrigued. And then she told me that she was hoping to have their session at home, in their apartment, showcasing them as a couple just as they are… and the rest is on Instagram.
In case you don’t have time to go and soak up every bit of their love story, though, here’s are the important things to note in their images:
I’m not sure there could be any more of a story wound up in these images. Kate and Andrew had wanted a romantic session that showcased all of their favorite things to do together as a couple, and I think we got it. I don’t think I’ve ever laughed so much at a session, and I am already looking forward to more of it when I see them later this year.
To Kate and Andrew, thank you for inviting me into your home and sharing these moments with me. See you in the fall!

I love home sessions! This is perfect!
Thanks, Lauren! I love in-home sessions, as well. There’s just so much sentiment in every nook and cranny!
These two are the cutest!! Even without the tiny hands – lol
