Fall is always the busiest time of year for family photographers in Indianapolis (and in most areas of the country) and this October has been my busiest month in all my years of being in business. Fall is also my personal favorite time of year and I’m always trying to slow it down and savor every last drop of it, but it always seems to fly by too fast. Lucky for me, I have a very thoughtful maple tree in my front yard that waits to turn until November – it’s like it knows I don’t have time to sit and admire it until then. Thanks, tree.
This fall I’ve had the good fortune of meeting a bunch of new families. It’s been so much fun getting to know these families and spending time with their littles. With these guys, their oldest was so excited to meet me. She jumped out of the car shouting my name (talk about feeling special!) and firing questions away at me about the park, about my job, telling me about her shoes and her school. She was full of excitement and curiosity and laughter and she absolutely made my evening. Not to mention, she’s total hair goals.
Her sister turned out to be quite the opposite. She was quiet and shy and very uncertain of me. As most kids her age, she wasn’t sure what to make of me, or my camera, and kept a very close eye on me. 😉 Dad was able to get her to loosen up a bit as our session carried on, as Dad’s usually do. I even heard a few giggles! I’m looking forward to seeing these new families again as the years progress, and working to win over even the most skeptical of littles!
