These fall family photos came with a little something extra because someone is going to be a big brother soon. I first met Stacey and Peter and Max a couple of years ago, but Max has always had the same sense of silliness each time I’ve seen them. He’s full of energy and a love for all things outdoors. I had a chance to see Stacey and Max for a session with just the two of them last year and it was extra special because if you’re a mom (or know a mom or have a mom) then you know how hard (and rare) it can be for moms to be in the frame. So having a chance to spend the whole evening together with just the two of them last year was really sweet to witness from behind the lens. Also, I’m just now realizing that Stacey has some magical hair – look at how much longer your hair is in only just a year!
This year, Peter joined us again and despite not loving photos, made our session complete. As much as I love photos with mothers and their children snuggling, I love photos of fathers playing with their kids. I’ve always loved capturing movement in photos and the spinning, flipping, tossing, tickling images are always favorites of mine.
But the best part about this year’s session is this family’s littlest member who’s not here just yet. We captured a little bit of everything for this family of three (soon to be four) at their fall family photos. This is a special time for them as they round out their time as just three before someone new joins their family next spring. I’m excited for all of their adventures yet to come and cannot wait to see Max as a big brother!
