Somewhere along the lines this crew was looking for a Zionsville family photographer and I won the family lottery. Michal is one of my favorite boy moms to photograph and I like to channel her energy when it comes to wrangling my own boys. Of course, I can’t ever make it look as good as she does – I always just end up looking like I only own rags and ranchwear. Which I do. Between Michal and David, they never seem to bat an eye at whatever is happening (or whatever I ask their boys to do), though who knows – maybe they’re throwing each other crazy eyes behind my back. I wouldn’t blame them.
Lucky for me, this family is always ready for anything. Including when I text them on a whim to see if they want to bump their session up by a week with less than 24 hours notice. David was at work (and worked overnight and just met us at sunrise) and Michal managed to pull it all together like the superhero she is. We had gotten rained out a week prior and they were really hoping for fall colors this year so we managed to whip it all up and bring it together ….ON HALLOWEEN. Yes, I get it, fall turnaround time is the longest of any time of year, but I’m here and I’m blogging, so that’s something!
Sunrise sessions are kind of like ripping the bandaid off for the day – it’s cold (and damp in this case) and it may even be Halloween and all you can think about is CANDY, but we got it done and then the rest of the day was a literal party. And while maybe not everyone at this session was in a morning mood, we managed to get smiles out of them all. Of course, I’ve included a few for Michal and David’s own entertainment as I know they appreciate all of the moods and expressions of their boys.
Thanks for having me again this year, Owens family! It’s always such fun to hang out with you all and your boy crew. I hope to see you again next year (maybe in slightly warmer conditions)!
