I’m 100% convinced that there just can’t be two people in the world who are sweeter than these two. You may remember them from a few months ago when we shot their pregnancy announcement session. Well, our time for their Eagle Creek maternity session finally came and I couldn’t have been any more giddy about it than I was. Kait, of course, looked absolutely stunning in both (yes, both!!) of her gowns for our session. When she texted me to ask if a wardrobe change mid-session would be okay, I pretty much yelled YASSS at my phone. I’m all about variety and switching things up – we can fit as many different looks into a session as you want. And I’m game for ALL OF IT. Her method of thinking was more along the lines of ‘what if I don’t end up LOVING that dress?’ where mine is more like ‘be a majestic water momma goddess in that fitted floral gown, please’. Either way, we both were happy with the outcome and I love the way each of their outfits plays off of the surroundings we chose to use.
Kait and Derek are going to be phenomenal parents and they already feel like naturals in their roles. They’ve got their names all picked out, but don’t know the gender of the baby, which makes their story even more exciting. I cannot wait to meet little baby Schutz in just a month or so!
We used every last bit of sunlight for this session and Kait made all my photographer dreams come true when I asked if she was game to get in the water in her gown and she didn’t hesitate a second in responding. We had perfect temps, almost no humidity, and gorgeous, soft pinky-orange skies as she killed it in the water as her gown flowed out around her. We stayed so long, we were booking it back to the cars to get out of the park in time and I didn’t get to squeeze her goodbye and wish her well on the rest of her pregnancy journey, so Kait, here’s a virtual hug to you. Cannot wait to see you all again soon – all THREE of you!
