Mothers are superheroes. There’s just no other way to look at it. But the mothers who became moms during the pandemic of 2020 are the ones who deserve the real prize. Having to navigate new parenthood is difficult to begin with, but then to navigate it when so many resources are cut off requires more strength than I can even begin to fathom. Having photographed a few families recently who have added little ones to their crew this year has me sitting back in awe as I edit my way through their sessions.
Tangent aside, these three were troopers for their frigid Dull’s Tree Farm family session! We were actually scheduled to shoot our session a few weeks earlier, when we were having a heat wave in the middle of fall, but had to push things back a bit after a really adorable someone took a swipe at mom’s eye in the middle of the night. Luckily, Anna healed up quickly and we were able to get their session in before opening weekend at the farm. Thanks to Anna and Andy for sticking out the cold temps, and for John for being up for anything and everything we asked of him… including sitting on his own at just 4 months! Go, John, GO!
