Kelsie and Kodie’s Crystal Coop Wedding was my first time at the Anderson venue, but was such a treat to photograph. It also turned out to be one of the first true scorching days of the summer (amidst the wild stormy season we’ve been having), but we made it through and looking back through this post, Kelsie and Kodie made the sweltering heat look easy and even enjoyable.
You can see Kelsie’s hand in all of the details carefully placed throughout their day. Shot almost entirely with my Sigma 24-70mm, we started off with a few select details and then moved into the rest of the fast-paced day filled to the brim with anticipation and celebration. Of course, being a boy mom myself, I was partial to all of the little moments with Brooks throughout the day, like Kelsie stopping to give him a kiss on her way back down the aisle with Kodie, or him hanging onto Kelsie’s dad during his toast.
And the moment from all of it that takes the cake – metaphorically, because their cake cutting was a highlight of their event, too – was Kodie’s dance with his mom. Or, rather, the end of it. I’ll leave you in suspense for that one, you’ll just have to scroll to find it. Definitely a first for me, though, and by the look on her face, a first for her, too. Never fear, no mother-of-the-grooms were harmed in the taking of these photos. Just see for yourself!
