Renee & Ken’s Illinois Street Ballroom wedding marked the last wedding of my 2019 wedding season. I still have one elopement left on my calendar, but the last full wedding of the year is always a bittersweet one for me, and I couldn’t have ended it with a sweeter couple. I met these two last year when they made a trip down from Michigan as part of their wedding planning. Renee is from the area, and they were excited to incorporate downtown Indianapolis into both their engagement session and their wedding. Their ceremony was scheduled during sunset, and the gorgeous colors filtered through the skyline behind them as they said their vows through smiles and laughter.
I’m always a sucker for details, storytelling, and sentiment, and this wedding delivered in all areas. From Renee’s necklace, to the photo tied around her bouquet, the memory box they built together during their ceremony to Renee’s dance with her mom and the newlywed advice from Ken’s parents after they out-danced everyone during the anniversary dance.
To Renee and Ken, thank you for having me along over the last year. Everything about your wedding was warm (except maybe the actual temperature outside) and wonderful and filled with so much love and laughter. I wish you both the best and congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs.!
