This is my second year photographing this family but they’ve added another family member since I saw them last. Last year, Katie and Cage included Katie’s mom in their session, and even though you won’t see them in this post, we were able to include Cage’s mom and both of Katie’s parents this year for a perfect extended family session. Katie’s parents live locally, but it just worked out that Cage’s mom would also be in town for our session and it was so great to see both kids showered in love by their grandparents. I’m always a sucker for grandparent photos – I’ve felt this way long before I ever had kids of my own.
Katie and Cage chose Cool Creek Park for their family session this year. This is a park that’s new to me (though I know it’s really popular among Indianapolis photographers) and I love it for little ones. There’s room for them to run and play, but everything is in close proximity and the trip back to the cars when the session is wrapped up is nice and sweet (perfect when little ones are hungry or tired… or just plain over it).
The leaves were just starting to change for this Cool Creek Park family session and I’m hoping to get back over there soon to see how things are looking now. Of course, I just glanced at my calendar and realized that November is NEXT WEEK so now I’m in a panic about where both September and October went. These late-turning leaves are really throwing me for a loop this season!
Katie and Cage, thanks for having me back again this year and for inviting me to document your growing family, as well as the grandparents with your littles!
