This was my second ever Cool Creek Park family session and it’s not surprising how quickly I’ve fallen fallen in love with the space and the light. I love having another option for my Carmel, Westfield, Fishers, and Noblesville families that’s just a little closer to them and it’s the perfect spot for littles since nothing ever seems to be too far from the car.

It’s been a few years now since I’ve seen Courtney and Jared and their family has grown a few times since then. It was so sweet to meet both of their kids and capture little snippets of them in their natural element. If you’ve been around the blog long enough then you’ll know it’s things like funny faces, enthusiastic hugs and kisses, and accidentally poking yourself in the eye with your prized piece of long grass area always among my favorite images. Throw in a bit of airplane, dancing, tickling, and snuggling, and we’ve got ourselves a session, folks. Lucky for me, these littles were ready for just about anything and took turns fanning themselves off in between photos to keep cool on another scorcher of a summer evening. Note to self – always bring portable fans to summer sessions. Or maybe all sessions that involve kids – it’s better than a snack or a toy when a break is needed!

Courtney booked this session at the start of the year, so when they got out of their car and shared that they’re expecting later this year, I was excited about our little fifth wheel. Give me all the expectant summer mommas… and then let me meet all your little babies this fall and winter. 😂 It’s always so sweet seeing little ones become big brothers and sisters and seeing the wonderment in their eyes as we talk about where the baby is during our session. The world is such a big place for these little people and documenting them exploring will just never get old.
